Due to the handcrafted nature of our manufacturing processes - particularly coating and finishing - a low level of quality control variance is unavoidable. Rather than discard these beautifully imperfect pieces, we offer them as graded shades, staying true to our sustainability ethos.

The ‘Coolicon’ lampshade is handmade to the original design patented by Benjamin Electric of North London in 1933. Introduced alongside the legendary RLM and Benflux ranges, it has over 90 years of heritage and remains one of Britain’s most iconic lighting designs.

Originally created as the task light of choice for 1930s factories, workshops and skilled trades, this shade has stood the test of time. Finished with the hand-applied Benjamin Electric badge of honour, it represents authentic British craftsmanship and enduring quality - perfect for vintage, industrial, farmhouse and contemporary interiors alike.
